About Me
Welcome! My name is Mrs. Marjon Webster, and I am proud to teach 6th Grade English Language Arts and History Ancient Civilizations at Rancho Dominguez Preparatory School.
My goal is to create a classroom where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to grow as readers, writers, thinkers, and citizens. Through engaging lessons, collaborative activities, and meaningful discussions, students will build the skills they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
I look forward to partnering with families to make this a successful and rewarding school year!
English Language Arts
In 6th Grade ELA, students will:
📚 Read a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts
✍️ Develop strong writing skills
🗣️ Participate in academic discussions
🔍 Analyze themes, characters, and author's purpose
📖 Build vocabulary and reading comprehension skills
Our school-adopted curriculum is MyPerspectives and includes novels, informational texts, drama, poetry, and research projects.
History
In 6th Grade History, students will:
🌎 Explore ancient civilizations and world cultures
🏛️ Investigate historical events and their impact
🗺️ Analyze maps, artifacts, and primary sources
💡 Develop critical thinking and inquiry skills
📝 Strengthen historical writing and evidence-based reasoning
Students will learn how the past helps us better understand our world today.
